The 2019 Volnay Santenots 1er Cru has an intense nose of red cherries and wild strawberry, touches of incense emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, supple and lithe, leading to a slightly ferrous finish. Long in the mouth, it is not the most opulent Santenots, but I think that work in its favor.
