1985 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione

Now fully mature, the 1985 Barolo Rocche dei Brovia is a wine to drink over the near-term. Huge and voluptuous on the palate, the 1985 retains incredible depth richness and power, but the bouquet is now starting to show fully tertiary notes of mushrooms, earthiness and licorice. The 1985 is a big boy, though, so it will hold for a number of years based on its sheer depth, it's hard to see the 1985 improving much from here.
