2019 Chassagne Montrachet Les Vides Bourses

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Vide-Bourse 1er Cru has an outgoing nose of orchard fruit, mango and almond. Fine delineation with a touch of new oak to be assimilated with time. The palate is well-balanced with orange pith, pear, stem ginger and a very subtle rooibos note. Quite spicy toward the finish, it doesn't possess the class of the top Chassagnes this vintage, but it remains an enticing proposition. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
