The 2020 Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata is a powerful, textured wine. It offers terrific fruit density and soft curves. The aromatics are already quite open, suggesting a Barolo that will drink well with minimal cellaring and will also reach maturity on the younger side. I would prefer to see more energy and focus in the estate's top wine. Production is just four barrels.

Mid garnet. Very pure, sleek fruit with a firm backbone of tannins (cf Roncaglie) and a very pleasing combo of fruit and structure Long! Not sure I would describe it as 'modernist' as in the Swig brochure. (JR)
The 2020 Barolo Riserva Rocche dell’Annunziata is stellar. It marries fruit intensity, bright acids and structure. Black cherry, lavender, spice, menthol and mocha all take shape in the glass. I especially admire its vibrancy and energy. Time brings out the wine's natural intensity and resonance.
