Castiglione Falletto. Just mid ruby. Perfumed, deep red-fruit nose that is just creeping out of its shell. Crushed raspberry fruit on the palate. Elegant constitution. Long and fragrant and with a layer of sandy tannins. Needs more time. (WS)

From one of the best sites in Castiglione Falletto, the Oddero 2020 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione has a bright mineral note and is a wine that focuses on all the high notes. There is blue flower, crushed stone, cranberry, cassis and a soft herbal tone that is quite pretty. It fleshes out to pastry cream, sweet blueberry and toasted biscuit. The wine has nicely integrated tannins and freshness. Production is limited to 2,200 bottles.
The 2020 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is a beautifully seductive wine. Effusive, aromatic and light on its feet, the 2020 graces the palate with hints of crushed flowers, spice, mint, pipe tobacco and orange peel. Fine, silky tannins wrap it all together. This, too, needs time.
