Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2020-2027, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Meursault "St. Christophe" is a blend of Les Petits Charrons, Narvaux and Les Tastet. It has a precise and quite attractive bouquet, the 20% new oak (half in large 600-litre barrels) is nicely integrated and imparts subtle brioche aromas. The palate is well balanced with a touch of orange cordial on the entry. There is a fine bead of acidity here with a lightly spiced finish, just a tang of lemongrass enlivening the aftertaste. Very fine at this level.

A cuvée composed from holdings in Casse-Tête, Petits Charrons and Narvaux du Dessous, the 2017 Meursault Saint-Christophe offers up an attractive bouquet of green apple, Anjou pear, hazelnut cream and oatmeal. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, tangy and incisive, reflecting the house style and its hillside origins, with promising chalky structure and a nicely defined finish.

First vintage in 2016. Three parcels on the coteaux: Les Casse-Têtes, Les Petits Charrons, Les Narvaux. From tank. 20% new oak. Subtle spice, a hint of cedary oak but mostly a blend of citrus and oatmeal. Broad and spicy on the palate, pulled in by pure citrus on the finish. (JH)

(a blend of Narvaux, Petits Charrons and Casse-Têtes; 15% new oak, about 50% large-format barrels): Bright, full yellow. Very ripe, slightly reduced aromas of ripe peach, dried fruits and hazelnut. Nicely concentrated but a bit hard-edged and disjointed today, with some acidity yet to be absorbed. Conveys good thickness and soil salinity for village wine but not yet harmonious.
