2018 Barolo Bussia Riserva 7 Anni

The 2018 Barolo from Pianpolvere Soprano is fabulous. Ripe, silky and super-expressive, the 2018 is immediately captivating. The aromatics alone are so inviting. Kirsch, rose petal, mint, blood orange and sweet spice open first, leading to gorgeous layers of nuance that follow. Sweet floral notes lift the finish effortlessly. If this is the straight Barolo in 2018, I can hardly wait to taste the Riserva. This bottling emerges from younger vines planted in 1999.
