The sure bet from Cerbaiona is the 1999 Rosso, a blend of 60% Sangiovese and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. It offers a dense ruby/purple color in addition to sweet, complex aromas of fruitcake, cedar, espresso, black currants, cherries, and leather. Ripe, with superb purity, medium to full body, admirable structure, and unobtrusive but noticeable tannin, it should drink well for 10-12 years. Importer: Vias Imports, New York, NY; tel.
