Note di degustazione
Fragrant and mineral Barolo with red berries, grapefruit peel, mild spices and ground pepper on the nose. Polished and caressing on the palate, it has medium body and very fine, well-integrated tannins. Smooth and very approachable. Drink or hold.

Medium red/orange, the 2020 Barolo La Villa Castelletto jumps from the glass with menthol aromas and notes of sour red cherries, tangy orange peel, clove, and dried earth. Medium-bodied, it’s vibrant and well-balanced on the palate, offering energetic acidity without being harsh, and has fine tannins as well as a kiss of sweet fruit through its rather long finish. I like this on the palate more than the nose, and it’s quite appealing to drink over the next 10-15 years.
The 2020 Barolo La Villa offers up an exotic mélange of black cherry, pine, menthol, licorice and spice. Expressive balsamic notes run through this wild yet alluring Barolo, adding tons of complexity. Aeration brings out the wine’s attractive structure—there’s certainly plenty of power and Monforte muscle. I would give this a few years in bottle to soften.
