The 2021 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru offers more on the nose than the Taillepieds with airy red cherry and raspberry fruit, though it still needs more cohesion. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, definitely more fruit concentration than the Taillepieds with dark berry fruit laced with tea, that it stops abruptly on the finish and says "that's your lot matey".
