Note di degustazione
A clear note of bottle age here, woody (not oaky), mouth-watering freshness and deep in green fruits. Silky smooth, bone dry and so elegant. Extremely and deliciously persistent. (JH)

Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting, the 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu has a loose-knit, granitic bouquet that needs more intensity and focus. The palate is better with crisp acidity, a pinch of spice on the entry with bitter lemon and a touch of orange rind surfacing with time. The finish has good punch and almost shows up what is lacking on the aromatics. Unlike Samuel Billaud's other 2014s, I was never convinced by his Mont de Milieu and here I am still seeking that extra twist of quality.
Wow – the aroma is amazing here, so intense without being intensely fruity. Some green fruit and spice, and a touch of cedary complexity. Great concentration without loss of freshness and sinewy line. Even with that upright structure it already fills the mouth. Long creamy finish. Stunning wine. VGV (JH)
