Note di degustazione
Dark red with ruby tones. Slightly clenched but pure aromas of black cherry, licorice and menthol. Suave, vibrant and juicy on the palate, with noteworthy precision and even an element of coolness to its flavors of currant, red licorice and minerals; this is as fresh as a top 2016. Finishes a tad medicinal, brisk and long, with lingering notes of spices and soil and with atypical silkiness of tannins for this cuvée .

The 2015 Volnay 1Er Cru les Brouillards has a very pure and graceful bouquet thanks to its charming iodine-tinged black cherries and blueberry fruit. Très Volnay! The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, quite grippy in the mouth, a slight metallic note towards the finish (possibly a little reductive element), but with good substance and persistence. Afford this 3-4 years in bottle and you will have a fine Volnay.
(form 60-year-old vines): Bright, dark red. Medicinal black cherry and mint on the nose. More sharply delineated and complex than the Les Angles, offering lovely purity and a saline element to its black cherry and spice flavors. Flavorful, tactile wine with a strong impression of dry extract. Finishes with serious but fine-grained, spreading tannins. This wine struck me as almost Côte de Nuits-like in its black fruit character, like a number of best Volnay wines in 2015.
