Pale, bright straw-yellow. Aromas of yellow peach, toast and spices. Rich, fine-grained and a bit youthfully bound-up, showing good energy and a phenolic firmness in the early going. Ripe stone fruit flavors are leavened by saline minerality. Most impressive today on the savory, firm, persistent back end. This lively wine has harmonized nicely since I first tried it from barrel a year ago but needs at least a few years of cellaring.

Big boned and rich. Hint of oak. Ambitious but at the moment less fun than some other, cheaper wines from this (négociant) address. (JR)
(this was harvested relatively late, on September 28, but with only 11.9% potential alcohol): Very ripe peach syrup aroma. Concentrated, fat and powerful, conveying an almost liqueur-like richness but also a slightly dry edge to its peach and spice flavors. This is not yet showing the precision of Fichet's top Meursaults in 2016 but then there's more baby fat here. Finishes with good energy and echoing length. Fichet used no new oak for this cuvée --mostly 2015 and 2014 barrels.
