2021 Meursault Charmes du Dessus

The 2021 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru, made in a bespoke 520-liter used barrel from Chassin, has a very subtle reduction on the nose, but I feel there is more complexity and mineralité than the Genevrières. The palate is beautifully balanced, again, with a very clever reduction, plenty of depth and tension with a persistent, lightly spiced finish that has almost a flinty edge. Superb.
