The classic Barolo from Fratelli Revello shows a straight and linear approach, with dark aromas that appear to peel off at the sides. It casually slips a 15% alcohol dose and forges forward onto things olfactory. The 2016 Barolo offers good depth and nuance. Delicate fruit tones are framed by spice, smoke and aniseed. Fratelli Revello strikes a good balance here in this classic vintage. This release of 16,000 bottles is a solid near or medium-term Barolo at an approachable price.
