Offered at a lower price point compared to many of its peers, the 2014 Barolo lacks the harmony and the depth that is rewarded in the better vintages. The bouquet shows some simple cherry flavors that segue suddenly to more pungent notes of grilled herb and cola. Those transitions are abrupt and sudden. Some 12,000 bottle were made.

Revello's 2014 Barolo is soft, supple and tasty, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and tobacco flesh out in this attractive, easygoing Barolo.
