The 2018 Meursault Les Chevalières exhibits aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, citrus oil and toasted nuts, followed by a medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive palate built around a racy spine of acidity. It's tightly wound and a little introverted by comparison with the fleshy, giving 2017.

Tank sample. Dusty citrus aroma, perhaps a slight intrusion from the SO2 but this will pass. Lively and tangy on the palate, zesty if not terribly long. (JH)
The 2018 Meursault Les Chevalières is raised in 20% new oak. It has an energetic bouquet, focused and razor-sharp, featuring mineral-rich green apple and mirabelle aromas. Like the aromatics, the palate is taut and focused, with white peach, apricot and a touch of orange peel. There is a pleasing edginess toward the finish that lingers in the mouth. This does not quite deliver the fireworks due to the limitations of the terroir rather than any shortfall in winemaking, but I can see it offering a decade’s worth of drinking pleasure.
