Outstanding Top value - An exuberantly floral-suffused nose speaks of the essence of pear, apple and just sliced lemon. This mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is really quite sleek with fine delineation and a subtle minerality adding a sense of lift to the youthfully austere finale. This lovely and balanced effort could use better depth so plan on at least a few years of bottle aging. Drink 2029+

Boillot’s 2023 Puligny-Montrachet is a fairly straightforward, easygoing wine. Floral top notes, spice and a touch of tropical fruit open nicely. All this needs is a bit more depth in the mid-palate, something that seems missing here but is evident in many other wines, including the village Meursault.
From Charmes, Houlières, Enseignères, Rue Rousseau and Rue aux Vaches. 20% new wood. Mid lemon yellow. Reductive. Starts discreetly, then builds in intensity, as always more linear than the Meursault, with a fair length of finish.

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
