Note di degustazione
The 2023 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru comes from a 0.10-hectare parcel at the top of the slope from 60-year-old vines that produce one barrel. This is very complex and fragrant on the nose, with lemon thyme, crushed stone, shucked oyster shell and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is taut and fresh with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through this concentrated Les Clos. Vibrant and penetrating on the finish, it is an intellectual as well as sensory Chablis that should age with style.

The 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos is a deep, concentrated wine, offering an expressive bouquet of citrus oil, pear, freshly baked bread, orange oil and honeysuckle. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a generous, muscular core of fruit that is layered and textural, underpinned by racy acidity and culminating in a long, saline finish. A wine of considerable potential, confirming all the promise shown from barrel, it will reward extended patience before opening the first bottles.
Cask sample. Smells just a little riper and richer than Samuel Billaud's Vaudésir. More clementine than lemon citrus. Subtle but noticeable chewy texture adds depth. Long, structured, with incipient complexity that needs time to unfurl though you could enjoy it in youth. (JH)
