Barolo. Mid to dark ruby with orange rim. Slightly reductive, overlaying the gentle fruit at this stage. Classic and certainly interesting, but in need of fine tuning. (WS)

The 2008 Barolo Vigneto Cannubi is another striking wine from Burlotto in this vintage. The 2008 is quite young, in fact there is little in the way of aromatic complexity or definition today. Still, the wine's structural brilliance is evident and it is only a matter of time before the other elements take shape more fully in the bottle. A gorgeous, refined finish completes this beautifully balanced, harmonious Barolo.
