Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2020-2033, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

The 2017 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is performing well from bottle, bursting with aromas of orange oil, honeyed pears and toasted nuts. Full-bodied, rich and muscular while remaining lively and succulent, it's already drinking well.

A very impressive nose with plenty of lemon and grapefruit on offer, as well as hazelnutty oak influence and some stony nuances. Very rich and quite exotic fruit on the palate, in the peach, nectarine and mango spectrum. Well cast oak warms and spices up the finish. Complex and generous Bâtard. Drink or hold.

Cask sample. Sample not perfect. Smells distinctly malic. Good grand cru weight with some almost syrupy sweetness but very difficult to judge from this sample. (JR)
