Note di degustazione
Potentially 2,350 bottles from 1,141 acres but some must was traded with Ramonet for Bâtard-Montrachet must. Vines averaged nearly 40 years of age in 2000. 30 years ago Chartron owned over twice as much land in Chevalier-Montrachet . Very definitely the best of the first four wines served. Greenish gold. A little reductive on the nose. Smoky nose and very round on the palate. Winning balance at the moment. There's the delicacy of Chevalier with Grand Cru substance. Just what one wants in fact. (JR)

The 2000 Chevalier-Montrachet Clos des Chevaliers exhibits mineral and charred oak aromas. Nicely-balanced and softly-textured, it is a silky, medium-bodied wine. Toasted minerals and gravel can be discerned in its beautifully nuanced character. Projected maturity: now-2011. Importers: European Cellars, Eric Solomon, Charlotte, NC; tel.
