Note di degustazione
The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Champs-Canet 1er Cru has a broad nose encompassing white and yellow fruit. It's more generous than François Carillon's Champs Gain, perchance later picked with a very slight oily edge. It doesn't quite have the same sophistication as its peers, although it is exceedingly seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with a honeyed tincture, notes of quince and mandarin and fine weight on the finish. Again, it is not a complex or intellectual Puligny, not one I would be inclined to cellar long-term…but it is undeniably delicious. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Precise, crystalline structure with ripe fruit and ripe acidity. A hint of aniseed on the end. Long. (JR)
The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru has a taut, crushed stone, fern scented bouquet, light Granny Smith apple scents emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with good tension and poise on the finish. Excellent.
