I was delighted to find Thibaud Clerget’s Meursault Les Chevalières on the list, as it is one of my favorite white Burgundies that remains affordable. The 2020 does not disappoint. It’s just too young. Bright, crisp and minerally, it is a fine accompaniment to our dinner. I especially admire its chiseled energy and overall vibrancy. (AG)

The 2020 Meursault Les Chevalières is the last vintage of this cuvée for a few years, as the parcel was ripped up for replanting, and it has turned out nicely, exhibiting aromas of pear, green apple, toasted almonds and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate that's quite broad and textural for this typically chiseled hillside site.
The 2020 Meursault Les Chevalières, matured in 20% new oak, has quite a nutty, slightly oxidative nose. The palate is well balanced with a honeyed entry, good weight but just missing some tension on the finish. Difficult to work this one out. N.B. The vines will be uprooted this year so this is the final vintage for a while.
