Note di degustazione
The 2007 Barolo Bricco Pernice, from the heart of Ravera, is a ripe, fleshy wine very much in the style of the year. Layers of dark red fruit, flowers and spices caress the palate through to the rich, resonant finish. The 2007 boasts incredible depth and sheer gravitas. Layers of flavor build to the sumptuous, seamless finish. This is a pretty bold, in your face Barolo that will drink well pretty much right out of the gate. Three years in cask may have been a bit much for a wine that was so flashy from the outset.

I tasted a number of Baroli from cask, all of which point to a number of stunning wines in the pipeline. As outstanding as the Baroli are, the truth is that all of the wines in the estate’s lineup are fabulous from top to bottom. Cogno is one of Piemonte’s up and coming stars.
