Note di degustazione
The Poggio Antico 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is made with certified organic fruit and opens to a pretty blast of cherry and raspberry. Those bright primary fruit tones are followed by hints of spice and cinnamon. This estate does a great job with a simple, entry-level wine such as this. Production is 20,000 bottles.

The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is a spice box. It blends cloves with allspice, dried citrus peels, sage and cedar. Racy yet potent, it possesses a core of ripe wild berry fruit guided by zesty acidity. The 2022 doesn't miss a beat, finishing with a subtle tannic crunch and last licorice tones that carry on.
Coming from the more sandy and fertile soils in the lowest part of the vineyards (the first vineyards they harvest), the 2022 Rosso Di Montalcino is a bright ruby red color and opens to fresh aromas of ripe cherries, fresh herbs, and licorice. Medium-bodied, it retains good ripeness and has fine tannins, with notes of apricot on the palate and a clean, orange citrus-toned finish. It‘s a very appealing Rosso that’s ready to drink now or over the coming 5-6 years.
Medium intensity cherry red, with a vibrant reflection. Love the fragrance here, extremely enjoyable, this has crunchy red fruit, plenty of fine tannins, emphasis on dried herbs, orange rind, juicy fruits, a little dry on the finish reflecting the hot 2022 summer but enjoyable, and good value. One year ageing in large size French oak casks, Pippo d'Alessandro and Alessio Sostegni winemakers.
