Note di degustazione
The whole range is extremely impressive at Latour in 2023, including their most humble bottling, the Pauillac de Latour. It offers great vibrancy, perfume and intensity. A classically built Pauillac with pinpoint cassis, pencil shavings, fine tannins and a juicy freshness. 13.5% alcohol. Blend: 61.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34.1% Merlot, 4.7% Petit Verdot

Currants, blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, and floral notes pack the perfume. On the palate, the wine is fresh, creamy, juicy, and fruity. Open in style, this is already charming in your glass, and will offer nice drinking for 12-15 more years. The wine was produced from a blend of 61.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34.1% Merlot, and 4.7% Petit Verdot.13.5% ABV. Drink 2027-2040.
The third wine of this great château, the 2023 Le Pauillac De Château Latour is based on 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot and was aged 16 months in French oak (30% new). Deep ruby/plum-hued, it brings beautiful density and depth on the nose, with ample red and almost blue fruits intermixed with classic Pauillac cedar pencil, graphite, and scorched earth nuances. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a juicy, lively, concentrated mouthfeel, terrific purity, and vibrancy. I love this wine, and it will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and see its 20th birthday in fine form. Drink 2028-2045.
The 2023 Pauillac de Latour has a composed bouquet, well-defined, with blackberry and briny, estuarine scents, just the faintest touch of curry leaf coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Harmonious, not deep, light grip with an edgy, sapid finish. I should only need two or three years to come round.
