Note di degustazione
Bright, full red. Ripe if somewhat medicinal aromas of raspberry and cherry. Dense, sappy and concentrated, with a strong impression of saline extract to the red fruit flavors. The tannins are serious but nicely supported by the wine's material. Serious hail losses here held production to just 15 hectoliters per hectare in 2013, but this is a perfect example of a Côte de Beaune wine that should reward patience.

The 2013 Volnay Clos des Chenes has the most feminine bouquet of the Volnay '13s, with perfumed crushed strawberry, orange peel and rose-petal scents that render it alluring even at this early stage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins, plenty of fleshy ripe red fruit with a touch of citrus lemon on the finish giving this edge. This is a lovely Volnay that should age with style.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
