Note di degustazione
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru has a forward slightly evolved honeycomb and nougat bouquet that you might misconstrue as a 10-year-old wine. The palate is ripe with what feels like honeyed and botrytised notes, actually reminiscent of a Levroutée Viré-Clessé! It flummoxed an entire room of seasoned palates. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru was picked on the same day as the Les Folatières, though (as usual) there is greater mineralité and tension on the nose, more energy. The palate is harmonious on the entry with veins of apricot and wild peach. This has a little more flair than the Folatières with a clean and precise finish. Delicious. This will be difficult to resist in its youth.
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes mingles aromas of sweet yellow orchard fruit and mirabelle plum with notes of hazelnuts and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fleshy core of fruit, it's more layered and concentrated than the Folatières.
