Typically, one of Jadot's longest-lived whites, the 1998 Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles will live up to its reputation. Flowers, stones, and minerals are found in its aromatics. This wine has admirable breadth, delineation, richness, and freshness in its medium-bodied character. Minerals and candied lemons can be found throughout its flavor profile and persistent finish. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; (212) 490-9300.
Deep, pure aromas of minerals, nut skin and fresh herbs, plus a sulfidey complexity. Very concentrated, silky and generous; with its ripe, integrated acidity this wine comes across as harmonious from the outset, with all of its facets already organized. Lovely sweetness of fruit and uncanny thickness for Chevalier. Very long and fine on the aftertaste, less tannic than most of these '98s. Really transcends the vintage.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
