The 2018 Barolo Vigna Lazzairasco is a beguiling, nuanced wine. Sage, mint, dried tobacco leaves and cedar give the Lazzairasco its nuanced, complex aromatics. Medium in body, with gorgeous inner perfume and fine balance, the 2018 shows quite well today. Relatively soft tannins (for Serralunga) and mid-weight structure argue for near and medium term drinking,

From a proprietary vineyard site, the Guido Porro 2018 Barolo V. Lazzairasco starts off on a dry note. This expression never fully blossoms to those pretty tones of violet and lavender that we saw in some of the other releases from this producer. There is elegance and grace here, all backed by accessible tannins and a near-term drinking style.
Serralunga d'Alba. Just mid ruby. Bags of minerals with hints of tar and cinnamon bark. Sweet, elegant raspberry palate that is still a little youthful framed by long, coating tannins. Seems ready, but there is much more to come. (WS)
Very pale ruby with an even paler rim. Slightly muddy nose but with exciting depths of firm fruit. A Barolo for those who seek a bit of fruit concentration. Hint of candy on the end. Not my personal style of Barolo but very well made. (JR)
