80% from the east of the DOCG, near the Tanaro river. Pale brick. Fresh earth, tar, potpourri, dried tobacco and truffle. Crisp acidity, firm to high, chalky tannins and an earthy, tarry finish. A lot of structure for the density. Might come around. (TJ)

La Morra. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with bright orange tinges. Deep marasca cherry with balsamic oaky hints. Tangy fruit and firm slightly drying tannins, yet plenty of depth on the finish. Ready now. (WS)
Trediberri's 2014 Barolo captures the purest essence of La Morra. Bright red cherry, raspberry, mint, spice, anise and rose petal are given an extra kick of energy by the young Nebbiolo tannins. Translucent, medium in body and wonderfully lifted, the 2014 Barolo is all finesse. Time in the glass brings out the wine's inner sweetness, perfume and super-classic structure to an even greater degree. The Barolo is a blend of fruit from Berri and Capalot. If there is a major sleeper in Barolo's 2014 vintage, this is it.
