Note di degustazione
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumées 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with scents of lemon verbena, orange blossom and light crushed stone aromas. Fine delineation. The palate has a crisp line of acidity, quite malic on the entry, steely almost with a sapid and slightly peppery finish. It just seems to lose some of its panache and vigour in the glass, prompting me to reduce my score. Yep, there's a bit of TCA in the mix. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Dense and still quite marked by oak. Needs time for the (apparently pure) fruit to emerge. Maybe just a bit of a too-heavy oak stamp? (JR)
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumées 1er Cru is from the same parcels as before. Matured in 21% new oak, it has a lovely bouquet with orchard fruit and a very slight hazelnut aroma. The palate is finely balanced, taut and fresh, superb acidity with a nicely zesty finish that beckons for another sip. Another impressive Chassagne.
