Compared to the Bricco San Pietro, this 2011 Barolo Bussia has more oak and dark spice definition. There are thicker lines and more robust fruit favors here. It finishes with a breath of menthol or medicinal herb.

Monforte d’Alba. Deep ruby with orange tinges. Concentrated sweet nose with more than a hint of gingerbread. Rather a lot of candied fruit on the palate and already getting a little tired. (WS)
