Note di degustazione
Deep, dark red. Very ripe aromas and flavors of redcurrant and chocolate, plus a whiff of leather; just this side of raisiny. Big, rich and fat, with elevated alcohol giving the wine a youthfully aggressive character. Strong, chewy wine, finishing with a late hint of cherry but not quite the lift of the classico.

The 2007 Barolo San Giovanni is an explosive, firm wine loaded with dark fruit. The firm tannins begin to melt away with time in the glass, revealing a gorgeous, sensual Barolo. The French oak is wonderfully integrated in this vintage, adding gorgeous shape to the wine, while not overpowering it. The 2007 is one of the best vintages I can remember tasting of the San Giovanni. The San Giovanni is made from the estate's oldest and best-exposed vines. The 2007 saw six days of fermentation and maceration and was aged in French oak barrels, 45% of which were new.
