This wine is only made in the best vintages and these include 1999, 2004 and 2006. A 2009 vintage will also be released in a few years. A special ten-year anniversary limited edition will eventually be released focused on the 2000, 2003 and 2007 vintages. The 2006 Barolo Riserva Bussia is made without the partial stem inclusion that we will see in the 2007 version of this wine. This is a classic vintage with elegant fruit tones that show evolved characteristics. The bouquet offers dark fruit, balsam herb, candied orange peel, toasted almond, campfire ash and licorice. The mouthfeel is full and generous, and despite the long bottle aging already completed, this wine still shows the potential for an even longer aging trajectory.

Tannic and intense with coffee, tobacco and dark fruits. Full and chewy. Stylish wine. So much purity and beauty to this. Better in 2020.
The 2006 Barolo Bussia Riserva is developing nicely, but it is sill much too young to show the full breadth of its personality. Rose petal, lavender, mint, sweet spices and hard candy open up with time in the glass, but only with great reticence. The 2006 Riserva finishes with a classic sense of austerity that is one of the signatures of the year.
