Note di degustazione
This Cannubi cru is slightly less expressive than Brezza's Castellero and Sarmassa wines. The 2012 Barolo Cannubi opens to pressed flowers and dried violets. It presents a delicate and streamlined personality that is tender and graceful on first impact. It continues to the palate where it flows with a silky and smooth intensity.

Light bricky red. Sweet, red fruited and perfumed but also a leathery savoury quality. Leathery on the palate too – texture and flavour. Dry, firm and blocked/abrupt on the finish at the moment but everything in place, just needs time to relax. (JH)
Barolo. Pale ruby with orange tinges. A little rich on the nose, with strawberry fruit and herbal notes. Elegant palate weight and chewy tannins on the finish. Super-elegant, yet really tannic. (WS)
Brezza's 2012 Barolo Cannubi opens with beguiling, captivating aromatics. Mediterranean herbs, licorice, anise, smoke, game and red stone fruits abound. Mysterious and constantly changing in the glass, the 2012 appears to hold significant potential. A closing blast of tannin gives energy to the red fleshed fruit, rose petal, mint and sweet spice notes. The pedigree and elegance of Cannubi come through in a Barolo that melds together power and finesse, although readers will have to wait a few years to catch the 2012 at its very best.
