Note di degustazione
The 2000 Barbaresco Bric Turot, from a proprietary vineyard, is spicy and intense in aroma, quite smoky and tarry, and large, solid as well as sustained, and persistent on the palate, yet balanced with good tannic support on the finish. It promises another dozen years of life. A Leonardo Locascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620

(bottled in August) Good full medium red. Perfumed, pure aroma dominated by raspberry. Sweet, perfumed and highly aromatic in the mouth, with an impression of strong extract. Ripe acids really carry the fruit on the long, building finish; substantial sweet tannins coat the teeth. Still, this solidly structured wine is more difficult to taste today than the normale The yields here were about 40 hectoliters per hectare, compared to 48 for the normale, according to Torrengo, who pointed out that this wine, with its substantial but sweet skin tannins, benefitted from a longer maceration.
