Punteggio 91-93/100 · Da bere 2018-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2014

The 2013 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a backward, reticent nose at first, but it opens nicely with touches of oyster shell and limestone infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is clean and fresh, a pleasant symmetry here with finely tuned acidity and well-integrated oak that only makes a fleeting appearance right on the finish. This is an assured Criots that should drink earlier than either the Chevalier or the Montrachet.

Bright pale yellow. Pure but locked up tight on the nose--rare for Criots, which is usually more open if not exotic in the early going. Then fat, rich and sweet in the mouth, showing a honeyed ripeness and serious dimension. But this comes across as a bit aggressive and simple following the splendid Clos de la Mouchere. Henri Boillot refers to Criots-Batard as "a false grand cru."
