The 2020 Barbaresco Riserva Cottá is a small bottling of one 500-liter barrel. Powerful and savory, the Riserva offers notable textural power and intensity. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, leather and tobacco lend notable complexity. The Riserva emerges from a newly acquired parcel. The tannins are pretty forbidding today, so I would cellar this for a few years.

The 2020 Barbaresco Cottá is a powerful, dense wine that shows the natural richness of this site, but tempered by the restrained style that runs through all these wines. Succulent red cherry, red plum, blood orange, spice. There's gorgeous depth here.
Neive. Just mid ruby. Compact, peppery raspberry and cherry nose with stony hints and a suggestion of laurel. A core of raspberry fruit with bags of chewy tannins, which are a little bit demanding right now, and elevated acidity pushing the fruit on the finish. Not ready yet. (WS)
