The 2018 Barolo Conca is dark and supple, with good depth, especially for the year. Succulent dark cherry, cloves, mocha, new leather and menthol all come together nicely in this mid-weight, approachable Barolo from Ratti. All the elements are nicely balanced throughout.

Full bottle 1,313 g. From a 1-ha plpt within La Morra's Conca cru at 300 m on Tortonian blue marl. 24 year-old vines with a yield of 40 hl/ha. Aged for 24 months in a mix of barriques and 25-hl Slavonian oak. Filtered, unfined. 3,500 bottles made. Very pale ruby. Autumnal notes with some bay leaf and real lightness of touch combined with considerable fruit on the palate. Surprisingly approachable. Really very charming already with depth and breadth. Very satisfying. Though the aroma is not (yet?) ethereal, the palate should disappoint no one. It is already a joy to drink and our bottle, shared between four, disappeared rapidly. (JR)
The 2018 Barolo Conca is tight and beautifully intense with cassis, sour cherry, wild rose and blue lilac. The wine's inner fiber is fine and delicate, with slight aromas of spice, licorice and toast at the edges. Barolo Conca awards a lot of fine elegance and a long, polished finish.
