A tightly structured, old style Barolo, this 1985 offering from Giovanni Accomasso displays a wonderful inner-core of sweet, earthy, herbal, leathery fruit, gobs of tannin, a fragrant yet tightly strung bouquet of ripe fruit and spices, and a long, robust, muscular finish. Even though it is seven years old, this wine is still young and will benefit from another 2-4 years of cellaring. It should last through the first decade of the next century.
