Note di degustazione
Monforte d’Alba. Healthy mid ruby with orange rim. Balsamic and sweet and almost a little salty on the nose. Sweet embryonic fruit with gripping tannins and with creamy notes on the finish. In desperate need of more bottle age. Grows on you, especially on the finish. (WS)

The 2010 Barolo San Giovanni is laced with plum, black cherries, menthol, licorice, new leather and spices. This, too, is a relatively mid-weight vintage for the San Giovanni. The modest structure suggests the 2010 is a wine to drink sooner rather than later, even if Alessandria's Barolos have a track record of aging beautifully.
Good deep red. Sexy aromas of musky red berries, coffee, underbrush and smoky oak. Rich, silky and suave for the year, with nicely ripe red fruit and coffee flavors. Finishes sweet, long, fine-grained and vibrant, with big, broad tannins coating the fruit teeth.
