Note di degustazione
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gains 1er Cru has a malic nose. Granny Smith apples commingle with pear and dewy meadow. It develops more tropical tones and hints of passion fruit with aeration. The palate is relatively concentrated on the entry. What feels like some botrytized fruit renders it confit -like, with dried honey and a touch of stem ginger. It drifts too far away from Puligny on the finish, though it is still an enjoyable white Burgundy, albeit not a long-term proposition. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru has an intense bouquet of lightly honeyed fruit and yellow flowers infused with touches of crushed limestone. The palate is rounded and honeyed in texture, and lower in acidity than I would like, although I appreciate the length and salinity on the finish.
