Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2017-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2016

Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières has a very pretty bouquet, the new oak relatively pronounced compared to others, but it should be absorbed by the intense citrus fruit with time. The palate is well balanced with good weight in the mouth, a touch of honeycomb and white peach, plenty of spice towards the finish that maintains fine weight and focus. This is a sterling Folatières full of breeding and it should offer 12-15 years of drinking fulfillment. Tasted May 2016.

Very pale yellow. Subdued but pure aromas of flowers and noble herbs. Saline, penetrating and powerful, with suave, polished flavors of citrus fruits and flowers. Finishes with excellent saline cut and length. I slightly prefer this to the 2014 version.

Much broader and fatter than the Referts. For those who like something to get hold of in the middle. Quite rich on the end. Very slightly bitter finish but real attack. Long. (JR)

(tasted near the end of its malolactic fermentation): Aromas of lime, white peach and menthol, complicated by a faint candied quality. At once tactile and penetrating, showing terrific cut to the flavors of lime, lemon, white peach and minerals. Rich, classically dry Folatieres with palate-saturating length. This extremely promising wine will require at least a few years in bottle to express itself fully.
