Note di degustazione
(Jadot had close to a normal yield here, harvesting these early-ripening vines at the beginning; aged in one new, one once-used and one twice-used barrel): Laid-back nose exudes scents of peach, pear and spices. Quite aromatic on the palate, offering concentrated flavors of stone fruits, apple and spices. Conveys good energy for this ripe site. Barnier blocked a high percentage of the malolactic fermentation; otherwise, he told me, this very ripe wine could have finished with less than three grams per liter of acidity. Finishes long but slightly aggressive, with a tannic skin quality.

The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes has a straightforward, quite focused bouquet with light smoky, flinty scents gradually surfacing with time. The palate is well balanced with good depth, quite honeyed in texture with flecks of white chocolate and spice toward the finish. I would be seeking more tension and mineralité on this Combettes but let's see if that develops by the time of bottling.
Informazioni sul produttore

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
