Note di degustazione
The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet en Cailleret 1er Cru is less expressive on the nose at the moment but finely detailed with more mineralité than its Chassagne siblings, offering crushed rocks mixed with yellow flower and honeysuckle aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity. Intense, full of energy and cohesive, leading into a beautiful, pure orange-zest-tinged finish with pralines on the aftertaste. Wonderful.

Notes of citrus zest, crisp orchard fruit, crushed chalky and smoke preface the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Cailleret (Maison Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, layered and reserved wine that's quite tensile and attractively precise. This, too, will benefit from a second winter in barrel.
Gentle pressing then vinified and matured for 15 months in oak barrels (one-third new). Leesy, cheesy nose with an almost grapey florality. Oily lemons, peach cordial and candied citrus. Bold and full bodied, with a little savoury smokiness and just enough tangy acidity. (TP)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
