The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a very heavy and what feels like a fixed reduction on the nose. Again, the palate is reductive, rendering it rather generic. It is difficult to see how this will extricate itself from that strangle of sulfur. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. More white flowers, more spice (a slither of fresh ginger) but all very low volume and balanced. Mineral finish. (MH)
The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is complex on the nose with scents of beeswax, pressed white flower and touches of citrus fruit. The palate is very well balanced with fine depth, rounded in texture but fresh and tensile, though it just misses a little tension and comes across a tad oaky on the finish.
