Note di degustazione
Dark red-ruby. Complex, dark nose melds blackberry, black raspberry, minerals, licorice, spices, mint and violet; reminded me a bit of a very fresh Cabernet Franc! At once dense and juicy, offering subtle soil tones and excellent purity and cut. This very fine-grained, dry wine finishes vibrant and alive.

There are just two used barrels of the 2016 Volnay 1Er Cru les Brouillards this year that, unlike the Volnay Angles, was affected by frost. There are usually five barrels, according to Louis Boillot. It has a concentrated bouquet of kirsch, cranberry and wild strawberry flecked with brown spices and a touch of truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, firm in the mouth with much darker fruit than the Angles, a light marine influence toward the masculine finish. One for those that like the structure of Pommard in their Volnay.
