Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2022-2035, Jancis Robinson MW, Nov 2014

Dark blackish ruby. Pale rim. Sweet mossy nose. Very intense, candied rusty nails. Quite unusual! Very intense. Decidedly embryonic! None of the dramatic elements are integrated. But it’s admirably persistent. (JR)

Punteggio 94+/100 · Da bere 2017-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2014

A dark, full throttle wine, the 2010 Barolo Marenca shows off all of its typical richness and intensity. Here it is the wine's texture and volume that speak most clearly. Today, the Marenca is remarkable primary, with virtually nothing in the way of flavor development. Readers need to be patient, but the 2010 has more than enough structure to develop well in bottle for many years.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2016-2030, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2014

The 2010 Barolo Marenca offers a gorgeous interpretation of the mighty Nebbiolo grape with beautiful tones of crushed rose, balsam herb and cola that rise with confidence from the glass. That vertical lift carries with it a slew of secondary aromas of sweet spice and almond skin that help to flesh out the bouquet. The tannic grip is firm but not astringent and the wine hits the palate in a straight and determined manner. This is an exceptional wine with a long aging future. Drink: 2016-2030. Punteggio 92-94/100 · Da bere 2018-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2014

The 2010 Barolo Vigna Marenca bursts from the glass with massive dark red/black fruit, iron, smoke and sweet spices. Intensely ferrous and hugely tannic, the Marenca is endowed with serious Serralunga depth and structure. Even with all of its power, the Marenca always has an extra dimension of fruit, as it does once again in 2010. The Marenca is going to need a good few years to come together, but it is immensely promising.
